New and exciting gameplay

There are certainly many video games set to arrive this fall, and, even though their numbers slightly decreased after some high-end delays, there will be plenty of titles gamers will be able to choose from and entertain themselves.

One of the few new properties coming in October will be Double Fine's Brutal Legend, which is going to be published, after many arguments, by Electronic Arts for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. Created by Tim Schafer, the man behind other titles like Psychonauts, the heavy metal-themed title will be a must-buy for fans of the music genre and for fans of fun hack and slash games.

Even though it is set for a release in October, or Rocktober as the marketing people call it, it seems that Double Fine will release a demo in September on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. Those who pre-order the game will not only get it before the general public, on September 17, they will also be able to wield a special in-game guitar inspired by famous band Tenacious D.

“We just couldn’t wait,” said Tim Schafer, president of Double Fine Productions. “Villagers have surrounded our offices with torches, demanding the game. So we’re releasing a demo and hope that this taste of metal will keep the mob at bay until Brütal Legend comes out this Rocktober.”

The demo will constitute the opening sequences of the game, in which Eddie Riggs, the roadie played by famous actor and musician Jack Black, gets transported to a mystical heavy metal-inspired world. There he must use all of his skills to defeat the evil monsters that threaten to abolish everything that is rock in that world. You will be able to wield both your epic axe and your guitar in order to defeat your opponents, as well as meet Ophelia, with whom you can achieve combo-attacks that deal extra damage.

Available on October 13 in North America and October 16 in Europe, Brutal Legend is set to be a very important title this fall. Hopefully it will be able to take on other important games like Uncharted 2 and the likes.
