As actor speaks of believing in love again

Their marriage in March came as a complete surprise to everyone, except perhaps for those who are truly close to them. After a secret wedding in the Caribbean and then another ceremony in California, husband and wife Bruce Willis and Emma Heming have agreed to be featured in a bold photo spread for W Magazine. In the same issue, the actor opens up for the first time about how it’s like to love again – after almost a decade of not believing it would ever happen again.

As fans must know, Emma is actually Bruce Willis’ second wife, after the star split from longtime spouse Demi Moore. While Demi moved on with her life post-divorce, falling in love and then saying “I Do” to model-turned-actor Ashton Kutcher, Bruce remained single for most of the time. However, it was not loneliness that was killing him without even noticing, he reveals for W, but rather thinking that he would never love again. Until Emma came and changed everything.

“I went from ‘[Expletive] love’ to ‘Love is truly the answer.’ I spent the last 10 years single and, for the most part, unhappy. In a dark place. I never thought that being with someone else was the answer. I would say, ‘I’m alone, but I’m not lonely.’ But I was just kidding myself.” Bruce recollects. “Then I started hanging around Emma, and on a day-to-day basis my life became much happier.” adds Willis.

In fact, the actor says, he realized that he was so happy that Emma could only be the woman for him – and that she was. Unlike other couples, Bruce does not feel the need to be apart from his new wife not even for a minute, let alone several days. What the two share is more than just a love relationship, it’s also a deep friendship based on common interests and points of view; which, as Willis puts it, makes his second marriage “the most singular relationship” he ever had in his life.

Clearly, he does not mean that in a way that might be offending to Demi Moore in any way, since he still has the utmost respect and love for her. “We’ve become like a tribe.” Willis says of their rather unique “family,” which also includes his ex and her current husband. “It’s generated a lot of interest because everyone can understand resentment and envy in the breakup of a marriage, but they don’t understand how I can get along with my ex like that. Demi and I made a choice to put the kids first, and we’re really lucky that it turns out we all have fun together. I still love her, and I have a lot of respect for how she lives her life.” Willis concludes by saying.
