Gamers can unlock him by beating the entire single-player content

An official announcement from the development team at EA Sports says that it will include well-known martial artist Bruce Lee in the upcoming UFC video game it is working on and that gamers will have very different ways of unlocking the legendary fighter.

The studio explains in the official blog update that gamers can simply complete the entire Career mode to get the new character, if they “fire up your copy of EA SPORTS UFC and start fighting! Finishing EA SPORTS UFC’s career mode on pro difficultly or higher will unlock the martial arts legend for play in the Flyweight, Bantamweight, Featherweight and Lightweight divisions.”

This represents quite a bit of work for even the most dedicated gamers and those who have previous experience with the way the Ultimate Fighting Championship works and most modern gamers might not have the time to go through the entire game.

So EA Sports is ready to offer an alternate route to unlock Bruce Lee in the UFC title, which involves spending money before the game is launched.

The company adds, “Can’t wait that long to step into Bruce’s shoes? We don’t blame you. Pre-order your copy of EA SPORTS UFC today and get Day-One access to Bruce Lee.”

The official site offers a list of the all retailers that are participating in the promotion and which have copies available at the moment.

The fact that the official announcement from EA Sports is dated for tomorrow, April 8, means that the company was caught by surprise by a previous leak coming from a retailer and it decided to announce the official Bruce Lee promotion as soon as possible.

It will be interesting to see whether the player community interested in the UFC title is persuaded to pick up the game early in order to play as the legendary fighter or they will be more interested in spending the time required to beat the full campaign to get access to him.

It’s interesting to note that EA Sports has not commented on the reveal that its new fighting game will be launched on June 17.

The official position is that the title will be delivered to gamers before the end of spring.

It will be offered on the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

The UFC title will use the new Ignite engine and will fully simulate the unique movement that real-world combatants use.
