14 DAY TRIAL // Kim Kardashian said it a couple of days ago: step-dad Bruce Jenner was on a “journey” whose nature she did not want to discuss but that he would make public whenever he felt ready for it. Confirmation comes that this will be happening sooner rather than later, thanks to a new docuseries / reality show special that will air on E!.
As it so happens, E! is also the network to which the entire Kardashian – Jenner clan owes their current popularity, thanks to the reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which has been on the air for years and is now at its 10th season.
Bruce “wants to put it all out there”
Speculation around Bruce’s obvious changes in physical appearance has been around for at least a couple of years, based on reports from before the moment he and wife of 23 years Kris Jenner decided to end their marriage: apparently, he had long discovered he was a woman inside and wanted to take the first steps to matching how he felt to how he looked.
Kris repeatedly denied these reports, laughing them off as silly, so Kim’s statement about the “journey” is the closest we’ve come to an actual confirmation.
Now, both TMZ and Us Weekly confirm with separate sources that Bruce is indeed transitioning to female and that he has cameras following him around, with the footage to be used for a new docuseries / TV special on E!.
He has his family’s blessing (except for Kris’) and he “wants to put it all out there,” an insider reveals for Us Weekly. “Bruce has had these urges for many years, so the kids have known,” adds the spy.
Transition has been a long time coming
This isn’t news to Bruce’s family, the report further argues: he has been dressing as a woman at home and has started to make subtle changes about his appearance (mostly through plastic surgery) as far back as 1990.
Kris too knows about his plans but never agreed with them. To this day, she can’t understand what Bruce is going through and has repeatedly told him not to go through with his plan. The report says that this has placed an immense amount of pressure on their marriage, which is why they opted for a divorce.
His children, though, are far more understanding and supportive, and it’s because of them that Bruce is finally mustering the courage to come out. This is what Kim was referring to when she spoke of his “journey” and how it would all be out in the open at some point, when he was ready to talk (video below).
“It’s a docuseries featuring the Jenner family talking about Bruce ‘coming out.’ The world will see his full transformation,” the inside source says of the new project. TMZ seems to suggest that an air date is imminent, but E! is yet to confirm it as of the time of writing.
