14 DAY TRIAL // Since before the 2013 announcement that Bruce Jenner and longtime wife Kris Jenner had separated, he's been plagued by rumors that he was either a closeted transvestite or a transgender woman yet to start the transition. These reports picked up after the separation – and have just gotten a new boost with his most recent appearance.
They say you’re never to judge a book by its cover, but this is all you should expect if you’re in showbiz, especially in reality television: to be judged based on the way you present yourself to the world on public outings.
Bruce is now getting a very hefty dose of that.
Former Olympian is said to be making the transition to female
For several months now, Bruce Jenner has been the target of one very unusual rumor, which stemmed from the fact that he started growing out his hair and fingernails, getting regular manicures and even more plastic surgery than before: he’s making the transition from male to female.
He never addressed it directly, but estranged wife Kris did laugh it off, saying that he was a man who liked to take care of himself and that’s something that the media can’t seem to understand or accept, hence all this talk about a transition.
Despite Kris’ denial, the rumor never really died down. It just received a new boost with Bruce’s most recent appearance over the weekend, at an Elton John concert. As you can see in the two photos included in the gallery below, he seems to have upped the glam factor considerably, whether because he considered the concert a special occasion or because this is how he’s rolling these days.
Bruce still wears his fingernails long and perfectly manicured, and he seems determined to grow out his hair to an impressive length. For this night out, he let his ponytail down, showing off his luscious mane.
He’s also rocking a pair of diamond studs in each ear and seems to have recently gotten his lips plumped with fillers. Either that, or he’s wearing makeup.
As celebrity pundits see it, he’s looking more glamourous and feminine than ever before, which “must” be a clear sign that he’s transitioning from male to female. This explains why these photos of him out and about are now the talk of the town.
Transition or not, who are we to butt in?
Since this transition rumors started making the rounds, there’s been a lot of discussing whether we (understood generally as the media, celebrity pundits, and fans) have any right to butt in, or for that matter, even to notice the changes he’s been going through.
Many voices point out that, if Bruce is really making the transition to female, it would be entirely his business and no one else’s, particularly since he never made a secret of how badly he wanted to get out of the spotlight because he didn’t like the attention.
That may very well be true, but it doesn’t mean that the conversation will end here just because. The fact that this new series of photos has gone viral is proof that there’s still a lot of interest in Bruce, whether he likes it or not, whether he’s transitioning or just upping the glam factor because he likes it better that way.
