Police sources have confirmed that an MTA surveillance camera captured the moment 4 cars collided on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu earlier this month, with reality star and former Olympian Bruce Jenner behind the wheel of one.

The same sources tell TMZ that the footage also leaves no room for doubt as to the part Jenner played in the accident, because he was the one that caused it, by hitting the car in front and sending it into incoming traffic.

Bruce Jenner lied to the cops

The video also proves another thing: that Bruce Jenner lied to the cops when he claimed the car in front of him, the white Lexus, braked suddenly, which left him without enough time to hit the brakes and avoid the collision.

By rear-ending the Lexus, he sent it into incoming traffic, where it was hit by a speeding Hummer, and the female driver of the former was killed on the spot.

Jenner went on to hit the Prius in front of the Lexus, with some reports even saying at the time that this was probably explained by some kind of malfunction with the Prius, since Jenner hadn’t assumed any share of responsibility for the crash.

As it turns out, Jenner was smoking and seemed “distracted”: the report says he was holding a cigarette in one hand and wasn’t paying attention to the traffic in front of him. The video clearly shows that the cars he plowed into were moving slowly, having reached the end of a line of vehicles stopped at a red light.

Jenner came from behind at great speed, crashing “violently” into the Lexus and then the Prius. He probably didn’t even have the time to brake at all, because everything happened so fast he might not have even understood what was going on until it was too late.

A possible manslaughter charge

For the part he played in the female driver’s death, Bruce Jenner could be looking at a manslaughter charge, the report continues. He wasn’t paying attention to the road and he didn’t keep the distance to the car in front, which would have helped him avoid this tragedy.

Bruce probably knew he’d eventually be caught on the lie he told the cops, because hours after the crash, he’d already lawyered up. Voices online claim he wouldn’t have done it if he were innocent.

Even so, even assuming police determine beyond any shadow of a doubt that he was guilty of having caused the crash, Jenner might still walk. “Sources think it's unlikely he'll be charged with vehicular manslaughter because the offense is following too closely, something everyone has done,” TMZ says.
