A new flavor of Browser Plus was made available for download for users of a Windows Phone 7 operating system, namely version 1.5, which comes with a pretty appealing new feature included into the mix, namely Favorites/bookmarks.

For those who might not be familiar with the application, we should note that it was released only a few weeks ago as the first third-party browser for handsets running under Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system.

The browser is based on Internet Explorer, and comes with all of the features that one might have expected to find in such an application.

The main features of the browser include:

- Tabs like in desktop browsers. Open as many as you want, have them load in the background. Who said 6 tabs should be the limit? - Favorites/bookmarks - Private browsing. No history left behind. - Special 'reader view'. Reformats pages to make them mobile friendly - removes all ads and non-essential content - Inbuilt search using Google or Bing. Switch at any time. - Built on top of the same browsing rendering engine as Internet Explorer so everything looks the same. - Landscape mode

You can learn more on the new Browser Plus 1.5 browser for Windows Phone 7 from the video embedded at the bottom of this article, courtesy of wpcentral.

The browse can be found in the Windows Phone Marketplace available for purchase with a price tag of $0.99 attached to it.

As stated above, this was the first third-party browser to have been included in the app portal for Windows Phone 7, though there are wide range of other applications already available for download there.

A quick look at WP7applist would show that there are over 3328 applications available for Microsoft's mobile operating system, a pretty encouraging figure considering that the first Windows Phone 7 devices landed on shelves only about six weeks ago.

And since WPCentral reports that the number was of only 3050 applications two days ago, it seems that the development for Windows Phone 7 is sky rocketing, and that we should expect for much more software solutions to the added into the mix in the near future.
