A family in Kaysville, Utah spending Father's Day camping has come across a bit of trouble when the three children faced a bear.

Kamila Kelly, her husband and kids went for breakfast at a campground in New Fork, before attending church.

After mass, the kids ran to return to the camp and, upon their arrival, noticed that a black bear was going through the trash they left behind.

According to News Max, the two boys jumped in to save their 7-year-old sister Moriah, attacking the bear with a rock, then approaching it to get her out of its way.

"I yelled, 'bear!' and I told Moriah to run, she didn’t, so I grabbed a rock and I threw it at the bear’s head. [...] It didn't do anything, so I ran to Moriah, picked her up and carried her," 11-year-old Baden Kelly describes.

The bear chased them to the cabin but was turned around by older brother Logan, 15, who made loud noises to drive it away.

"That's when the bear started running after us. [...] By the time it got to about 10 feet behind us, my brother came running really fast out of his cabin and shouted very loudly.

"I was scared because of Moriah and she's just little, she wouldn't have been able to fight for herself. [...] So I had to make a choice and do that," Baden recalls.

The parents found out from campground attendants that a bear was spotted in the area and they rushed back to the picnic spot.

"We were headed back there when two staffers came running up saying there was a bear in camp, and that we needed to get back to the lodge.

"I saw the camp staff bringing Moriah up, and she jumped into my arms and said that, 'Logan and Baden saved my life,'" Kamila Kelly says.
