Brother Doug Wants Brad Pitt Away from Angelina Jolie

Reports emerged over the weekend that the most powerful couple in showbiz right now, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, had decided to call it quits and move on from what was a beautiful love story of about 5 years. Denials to this have also surfaced since then but that doesn’t change the fact that the rumor continues to circulate, with The Sun saying that Brad’s brother, Doug Pitt, insisted with the actor to leave Angelina and see to his life.

Admittedly, Angelina is a very controlling woman, one who likes to say what goes and what doesn’t – and this also included Brad’s relationship with his family. Because she was never fully accepted, she turned a cold shoulder on them, for which reason Brad too drifted apart from his relatives, the British tabloid says. Because he could no longer stand for this to go on, Doug Pitt urged Brad as early as before Christmas to break things off with Jolie.

“Brother Doug, 41, visited Brad in New York over Christmas and urged him to pull the plug on the relationship because it was making the actor and his family unhappy. The couple have been putting on a united front but a source said: ‘It’s no secret they have been in a pretty loveless relationship for about a year’,” The Sun writes. The only thing that’s been keeping them together all this while is the six children whose custody they share, three adopted and three biological.

“‘They barely spend time together and when they do it is very fraught. They want different things from life. Brad’s family are being more vocal with their doubts over the relationship. The only thing they still have in common is their kids. That’s keeping them together at the moment.’ Brad and Angelina had a miserable Christmas and Thanksgiving after Angelina refused once again to spend any time with Brad’s family,” the tabloid further explains.

In other Brad and Angelina rumors, earlier today, word got out that, while still very much in love with Jolie, the actor had decided to make a clean break from her. While waiting for things to settle down, Pitt bought a house in Hollywood Hills of which he likes to think as his “bachelor pad,” complete with two bedrooms, bathrooms and a cave. He plans on moving in as soon as possible, because it’s the only place where there are no Angelina connections and memories.
