Brooke Burke is getting ready for surgery for thyroid cancer, is staying very positive about it

Almost one month ago, Dancing With the Stars host Brooke Burke-Charvet revealed she’d been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and would have to undergo surgery very soon. The time has come but, as it turns out, Brooke remains incredibly positive about the intervention – and very active on social media as well.

E! Online has comprised some of her messages on Twitter, Facebook and her blog Modern Mom, with all of them confirming that Brooke is actually looking forward to the intervention just so she can consider this chapter in her life closed.

She’s also determined to use her own experience to help others, for which reason she promises she will be writing often on the aforementioned blog, offering other women and men in her situation more details into her recovery.

For the time being, though, she’s trying to think positive about the surgery, of which she’s already said it’s going to leave her with a big, ugly scar.

“count down 2 my surgery now... I'm going nuts thinking about laying around 4 my recovery. Not good at that! grateful every day for my health,” she wrote on Twitter.

“Im amazed at how many women have stopped me In the past month to share their thyroid scars & stories. They're beauty marks & so reassuring,” Brooke added at a later hour.

She also thanked her Facebook fans for the undying love and support, but also for reaching out to her to try and comfort her by sharing with her their own stories of disease and victory.

“I'll be posting some new blogs on ModernMom.com about how I've been dealing with it all and how my family has been handling it too. What a crazy time, but I am surrounded with love and support and that really makes a world of difference,” Brooke says.

“Thank you for following me and for all your thoughts and prayers. I feel it, truly, and your energy outweighs my stress! From the bottom of my heart, thank you,” she adds.
