Bromium has teamed up with ForeScout Technologies in an effort to create a joint solution capable of automatically identifying and mitigating attacks that rely on advanced malware.

The integration between Bromium’s Live Attack Visualization and Analysis (LAVA) solution and ForeScout’s CounterACT can be leveraged for real-time intelligence gathering, and network-wide defenses capable of protecting enterprises against sophisticated threats.

“In conjunction with vSentry, LAVA provides unparalleled intelligence into malware attacks at the most critical point and time, as it happens,” said Simon Crosby, CTO and co-founder at Bromium.

“Our work with ForeScout, leveraging ControlFabric technology, allows joint customers to respond immediately, network wide, using the rich integration and powerful orchestration capabilities of LAVA and CounterACT.”

The two solutions work together in the following manner. When Bromium’s LAVA detects a piece of advanced malware, it sends real-time information to ForeScout’s CounterACT, which automatically performs various actions.

These actions can include alerting administrators, emailing end users, and blocking traffic from the infection source to prevent the threat from spreading.

By monitoring and classifying all the endpoints connected to an organization’s network, CounterACT is capable of deploying Bromium’s vSentry agent on the devices that meet hardware and BIOS requirements.

Bromium LAVA, on the other hand, gathers signature information on the malware attack and sends it to CounterACT. The ForeScout solution uses the information to assess other endpoints in an effort to identify and quarantine zero-day infection points.

“We are thrilled to partner with Bromium to provide joint customers with enhanced protection against advanced malware,” stated Gil Friedrich, vice president of technology at ForeScout.

“This integration illustrates how ForeScout’s customers and partners leverage the ControlFabric technology to build a central security hub that can bi-directionally share real-time threat intelligence, automate remediation and improve operational efficiency.”

The joint solution is delivered via ForeScout’s ControlFabric Interface.
