The meaning of “broken art” is suddenly more ambiguous

We've heard about recycling broken devices, and even about chairs made out of random consumer electronics parts crushed together and molded.

Sebastian Schmeig and Silvio Lorusso have something to add to the realm of art constructed out of defective things.

They have published a book made of images of Kindle e-readers with their e-ink displays broken in various ways. There are 56 images at this point in time.

The book is physical, not an electronic file. You can see it in the video embedded above.

We aren't sure if the idea resonates with us all that much, although it might be that we witnessed more amazing things and are, thus, operating according to different standards.

And for those who want an example of amazing art, this may very well capture your attention for an hour or two.
