Coming to put an end to months of speculation and rumors, the Los Angeles Coroner office has issued the final report on Brittany Murphy’s health before she was pronounced dead on December 20. There were drugs in her system, but they were over the counter medicine for her cold, there was no trace of illegal substances or of alcohol abuse, while her weight was also deemed normal, People magazine informs.

This comes to put an end to rumors that the star’s death might have been connected either with her worrying weight (she had been plagued by anorexia rumors many years before her tragic and sudden demise) or with an addiction to one thing or another. On the same note, this also confirms what her husband Simon Monjack has been saying all along, namely that Brittany’s death was an accident and that she was not addict and wasn’t depressed.

“Putting to rest rumors about Brittany Murphy’s health before she died, the Los Angeles Coroner found that the actress did not abuse drugs or alcohol and wasn’t dangerously thin. The final report released Thursday states that Murphy had ‘elevated levels’ of Vicodin and drugs from over-the-counter cold medicine in her system, but no illegal substances,” People writes.

“‘There is no history of alcohol or drug abuse,’ the report reads. ‘The overall appearance of the body is consistent with the recorded height of 65 inches and the recorded weight of 115 pounds. The body appears well developed, normally muscular and slim but not excessively thin.’ Earlier this month, the coroner said pneumonia was the primary cause of death, with multiple drug intoxication and a low-blood count as contributing factors. The coroner concluded her death was an accidental but preventable,” the publication further says.

TMZ has the complete list of the drugs found in Brittany’s system, as revealed by the toxicology report. Apparently, the star had pneumonia and tried to self-medicate, with the combination of over-the-counter drugs eventually proving to be fatal. No less than 24 empty prescription bottles were found in her home by investigators, TMZ also says.
