Windows 8 is still struggling to make a name for itself, but as far as 2013 market share data is concerned, Microsoft’s modern operating system has failed to impress.

Statistics provided by market researcher StatCounter for the year 2013 in the United Kingdom show that Windows Vista has a bigger market share than Windows 8, even though globally, the modern operating system has managed to become the third top operating system.

In the United Kingdom, on the other hand, Windows 7 leads the charts, followed by Windows XP and Mac OS X, while Windows Vista comes fourth, just ahead of Windows 8.

Vista has a market share of 10.29 percent in the country, while Windows 8 is only powering 7.47 percent of the local computers. As far as Windows 8.1 is concerned, the 2013 statistics aren’t quite relevant, as it managed to reach only a 0.48 percent market share in two months of availability.
