I was wondering how long it was going to take until Britney pulled off another one of her stunts. Well, she finally did - but I think that for once in her life, she's done the wrong thing at the wrong time. Metaphorically speaking of course, because it looks like in real life it's kinda difficult for Brit to actually do something right, although no one can deny she's at least been trying.

Her latest adventure took place last night, when the diva and two dancer friends were in the diva's white Mercedes convertible heading east for Las Vegas on Interstate 10 (who's willing to bet the recently-back-to-blonde diva was thinking of paying rumored pal Criss Angel a visit?) and of course they were going extremely fast and, well, we all suspect by now where this is headed. No, luckily, this time her car didn't end up hitting a palm tree (Hulk Hogan's son, car crash, almost dead...any of this rings a bell Brit?) but it was spotted by police officers. One police car pulled over right behind Britney and flashed the lights, signaling her to pull over. But do you think Britney gives up the chase so easily? If you answer was "yes" then I'm afraid you don't know the chaotic former pop princes. Well, not sure anyone actually knows her (not even herself, I would add) but just for the sake of this story, humor me.

The correct answer was "no", Britney didn't pull over, but continued to drive at high speed for nearly a mile before she finally consented to pull off the highway and into a gas station where another police car was waiting. The officers actually approached Britney's car with guns drawn- but this is where the "normal person being pulled over" treatment Britney got was over. As soon as the two officers realized who the driver was, the "We know you're a star so we'll let you off easily" started, with Britney getting off with just a warning after 10 minutes' friendly talk with the policemen. One of them allegedly gave the pop tart a lecture on the long list of bad things that can happen to someone when speeding (yeah right - any of you actually buying this?) and then the Britney gang headed back for Los Angeles and (thank God) someone else took the wheel. The excuse? They were being chased by paparazzi. In an invisible car or a jet plane, she forgot to add.

Remember how I was saying in the beginning that she chose the wrong time for this? Well, she has, considering that last week we saw both Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie basically walk off free with much worse offenses. We weren't going to be THAT impressed with Britney's speeding unless she actually killed someone (how about herself?) to match the deeds of her fellow blonde felons. But really, that was not a joke. Here's the good news. I'm sure the next time she does something that stupid, there will be a thrilling tale about a responsible blond singer, a breath-taking race across the desert and a couple of invisible flying paparazzi with fire-throwers to account for the whole thing.
