As fans must know, Britney Spears is not her own master, as they say, neither from a financial nor from a professional point of view, since she has been under her father’s conservatorship ever since January 2008. Periodic conservatorship hearings are aimed at establishing the best course of action for Britney, with the latest raising the question of whether she should not expand the Circus tour to include other countries as well, as TMZ can confirm.

Usually, the hearings are all about money and who gets to pay the legal fees related to them, but yesterday’s meeting was an exception, the celebrity gossip website / paparazzi agency adds. For reasons that have not yet been made public, it seems that the lawyers asked for the judge to grant an expansion of the tour to include Australia and several European countries too, TMZ reports.

“Britney Spears’ conservatorship hearings are usually tedious arguments about money – but today’s hearing could mean Britney Spears is taking her tour Down Under. Lawyers raised the idea of expanding Brit’s tour to include dates in Australia and parts of Europe. Currently, Britney’s tour dates are in the U.S. and Canada, with a few dates in London in June.” the aforementioned source tells. However, nothing has been decided yet by the time the hearing has come to an end, which is why the lawyers will be meeting again to discuss the subject on April 14.

In other Britney Spears touring news, also yesterday, it emerged that the singer had a rather scary experience while performing in Pittsburgh. Towards the end of “I’m a Slave 4 U,” Britney was supposed to get on an elevator that would raise her above the stage and then bring her down again. All this while, flames would be bursting out from the stage, right underneath her.

Although everything eventually went well, a clip that made its way on the Internet clearly showed that Britney realized that the lift was unsteady the moment she put her foot on it. So, instead of dancing on it, she just stood there in a position that was meant to help her keep herself balanced, and barely mouthed the words of the song, eager to be brought down again to safety. Luckily, nothing bad really happened.

Keep an eye on this space in case the Circus Starring Britney Spears tour really expands to include other dates as well.
