While her latest album, “Femme Fatale,” is breaking records with massive sales, Britney Spears is pondering over the possibility of one day leaving the music industry, in a bid to revive her acting career, claims a new report.

Many have speculated that Britney’s most recent public appearances were so lethargic because she’s lost interest in being a pop star.

The latest report seems to confirm that: Britney has been looking at scripts and movie offers, and is considering rebooting her much-derided acting career.

However, this time around, she wants to go down the comedy route, Digital Spy reports, citing unnamed sources who claim to be well in the know.

“Britney is very mindful that she has to evolve as an artist now she is heading towards her thirties. Music will always be a part of her life but she has come to love acting, and comedy especially,” says the spy.

The tipster doesn’t say outright that Britney is thinking of leaving the music industry, but the implications are all there.

“She is currently considering a few scripts. One is a comedy and a kind of parody of the popstar she is and the other is a more serious role which is an action movie,” the insider goes on to say.

So far, Britney hasn’t said anything yet about looking into acting again, perhaps because of the way her biggest role, the one in “Crossroads,” was trashed by critics.

Nevertheless, she did make a cameo on “How I Met Your Mother” and it was warmly received, and her recent comedy skits for various television shows, such as Jimmy Kimmel, did earn her major points with critics.

All in all, comedy would be just right for her, celebrity bloggers points out – but she shouldn’t think about leaving music just yet, not when she continues to fare so well in the charts and with the fans.
