14 DAY TRIAL // The new season of X Factor has officially kick started, with auditions now underway in Texas. On the first day as a judge, Britney Spears already had some issues, allegedly walking out of auditions because she got too upset.
Sources cited by TMZ claim that Britney, who made a splashing appearance at the auditions in a bright pink dress matched with black heels and an even brighter smile, lost her cool during the process of selecting candidates.
One of them butchered her song and she simply wouldn't have it.
“Britney Spears walked off the set of X Factor moments ago... and according to several people in the audience, she was upset after a contestant butchered her song, 'Hold It Against Me',” the celebrity e-zine reports.
“Britney did not come back immediately and four contestants auditioned in front of the remaining judges... and an empty seat,” TMZ goes on to say.
Having learned of the rumors, Britney herself took to Twitter to shoot them down saying that, while it's true she walked out of the auditions, it wasn't because she was upset or anything of the kind.
She only needed a break, she writes.
“#Britneywalksoff??? LOL was just taking a little break people. I am having the BEST time!!!” the pop star says on her page, on which she's been keeping fans updated throughout the day.
Considering that many people believe a job on X Factor is the last thing Britney needs right now, one should probably expect more reports like this one in the future.
Voices online point out that she is yet to recover from her 2008 meltdown, so she would have been better off without the pressure, media attention and fan scrutiny that come with being on X Factor, as we also reported the other day.
Some even believe that this kind of pressure will lead her “back to meltdown territory,” with others saying Britney herself is already having second thoughts about accepting Simon Cowell's offer.
Judging by her tweets and the photos made available online, though, one could say that Britney really is having a good time on X Factor – so only time will tell whether there was any reason for concern about her.
