Britney Spears takes revenge at US Weekly publication.
The pop star is reportedly fed up with the press publishing untrue stories about her and
hubby Kev, so she is taking legal action.
US Weekly is number one on the list, for printing a false story that claimed Britney and Kevin had made a sex tape and were worried about it being shown to the world.
Britney is asking for $10 million in libel damages and $10 million for misappropriating her name to promote magazine sales, and also for undisclosed punitive damages.
The article in question had been published in October into the 'Hot Stuff' column, and was claiming the couple was afraid the recording will make it through and reach the public domain. It also said that Brit and Kev allegedly watched the tape with their estate planning lawyers, and that they were 'acting goofy the whole time' while viewing it.
The reply of official representatives of the couple was firm:
"There was no laughter, disgust or goofy behavior while watching the video in the company of lawyers because they did not watch any video, and because there is no such video."
The lawsuit has been filed as a response to the magazine's refusal to print a retraction.
Britney was angered many times by US Weekly in the past. Last year, the magazine published photos of her and hubby Kev from their honeymoon. The singer was upset and accused the publication of intruding her privacy.
