US tabloid The Star has just conducted a poll reporting that most of Britney's fans think she should dump hubby Federline. 65 percent of Star's readers thought it would be best for Britney to divorce the nightclub lover Kevin, while only 28 percent said the couple should try counseling to solve their problems.
An outraging majority of 98 percent agreed with
Federline's ex, Shar Jackson, who once said the former dancer is "like a leopard who will never change his spots".
But, according to a report published in the "Slate", the method used for the polling might be to blame for the result. It is called "push polling" and it's mostly used in the political arena.
"Push polling" is a method of polling where the interviewer essentially steers the respondent by 'pushing' that person towards the desired result.
For example, one of the questions in the poll starts as it follows:
"Kevin has reportedly been spotted partying with his pals and flirting with another woman in a nightclub, rather than spending more time with his wife."
With such a question, no wonder the answers were against Kevin.
