As much as critics tried to put it down, the new single from Britney Spears, the not too subtly named “3,” is burning up the charts. The song debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it still is, thus setting a new record for the pop star. In the meantime, Britney is shooting the video for it that will be released at a later date, as
JustJared can confirm.
From the pictures made available from the set of the video shoot, it looks like Britney will stay true to the lyrics of the song, as some of the snaps show her with two male dancers in what looks like a passionate embrace. Other than that, the video and the song are nothing but Britney’s own way of thanking her millions of fans who have supported her throughout the years and, implicitly, have made her glorious comeback possible.
Another thing that Spears is thankful for to the fans is that they have made “3” a record-breaking song. “I want to thank my fans for making ‘3’ the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100. I am truly blessed with the greatest fans in the world, and I am so happy y’all love it because I do this all for you. I can’t wait till you see the video.” Spears wrote on her Twitter page, according to the aforementioned e-zine.
The video, with an official release date still pending, was directed by Diane Martell and features choreography from Tone & Rich, JustJared also says. In the meanwhile, as also noted above, “3” has moved on from being “just another Britney Spears single” to becoming a record breaker. By debuting at the number-one spot on the Billboard Hot 100, “3” makes Britney the first artist in more than three years to debut at the top spot,
DesiHits says. “This is also the pop princess’ third time at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. ‘Baby One More Time’ and ‘Womanizer’ also debuted at number one, in 1999 and 2008 respectively.” the music-oriented publication writes.
As we were also
telling you a while back, “3” is included on the “Britney Spears
The Singles Collection” album that will drop in music stores on November 24, and it is the only new release from the artist following the impressively successful “Circus” studio material.
