Even facing legal action from Britney Spears’ camp for printing claims made by her ex Jason Alexander that her current boyfriend Jason Trawick is abusive to her, Star magazine is sticking to its version of the story. Spears is a cash cow and the recent Mexico holiday was just for show.
As we also informed you on several previous occasions, after Alexander was quoted as saying that he knew from Britney herself that she was being abused, several audio recordings surfaced.
Both the claims made in print and the tapes were denied by the Spears camp, with her attorneys saying there was no abuse and threatening Star with legal action.
The pop star also
spoke her mind on Twitter and then left with Trawick for Mexico, to celebrate her 29th birthday in a romantic setting and, at the same time, get away from all the rumors.
An insider is now telling Star that
the romantic trip was only a PR stunt put together by Britney’s people to rubbish the reports because they could be too damaging for her reputation and, thus, make a huge dent in her sales.
In other words, Star is saying that, yes, its original story about the beatings was true. Moreover, the tab claims that Britney is still being abused as we speak, but she goes along with it for the sake of her career.
“Britney is a cash cow. Her parents and management are really trying to keep the scandal under wraps so that it doesn’t affect her career – or the paychecks,” the insider dishes for Star.
The pop star has worked too hard to get her life back in order and to earn again her credibility with her fans to see it all go down the drain because one bad relationship, the spy adds.
“Britney has come so far in the last couple of years, and no one around her wants to see it all come crashing down. So for now, it looks like she’ll have to stay with Jason. No one else knows what to do,” the source explains.
As of now, camp Spears hasn’t responded in any way to the new claims made by Star.
