14 DAY TRIAL // Britney Spears’ upcoming album is called “Britney Jean” and will be out in December. She’s already said that she considers it her most personal work yet, a statement she reiterates in the amazing love letter to fans she just posted on her Twitter.
Though she’s had plenty of ups and downs, with the latter being heavily documented in the tabloid press, Britney has always had her fans to rely on; even at the height of her public meltdown, the music she released still sold extremely well and that’s saying a lot for how much the fans love and support her.
This is the first time that Britney addresses them this way. She posted the letter, which is handwritten by the way, together with the official artwork for her new album, which you can also see attached to this article.
“I haven’t sat down to write you guys in SUCH a long time. Long overdue! We’re all so used to getting our thoughts out in 140 characters, but sometimes its nice to take time to sit down and write something a little longer and more personal,” Britney says, explaining the letter.
She continues to offer details about “Britney Jean” and how hard she’s been working on it. It is still a work in progress but, so far, she’s happy with how it’s coming out.
“I’ve learned a lot about myself, and as I am finishing, I am reminded of the incredible foundation that has supported me for the last 15 years. Thank you all for continuing to follow me on this journey and for allowing me to do what I love to do. I can’t believe this is my eighth studio album and I know I keep telling you that it is my most personal record yet, but its true and I’m really proud of that,” she says.
“I have been through a lot in the past few years and it has really inspired me to dig deeper and write songs that I think everyone can relate to. Working with people like Sia, William Orbit, and of course Will.i.am has been an amazing experience. They have listened to all of my ideas and helped me bring them to life,” Britney continues.
But she also made sure to include some “surprises” for fans on the album, saying that it will reveal the many sides of Britney Spears. “I am a performer. I am a Mom. I am funny. I am your friend! I am Britney Jean,” the pop star concludes.
The first single off “Britney Jean” is “Work.” Britney is now preparing for a 2-year Las Vegas residency as well.
