Britney Spears, One Step Closer to a Nervous Breakdown

Britney Spears went bald. On Friday night, a very disturbed and teary-eyed pop star, stood in front of a mirror in an L.A parlor, hair clipper in one hand and cigarette in the other, a can of Red Bull on the counter in front of her, looking at what she had done. Outside, a crowd of paparazzi, fans and people who simply wanted to know what the fuss was all about was beginning to hinder traffic.

A couple of minutes later, after Britney came to terms with her new look, after she laid her heart at ease as to what her mother would say, the star and her entourage slipped out of the hair saloon and into a tattoo parlor next door. There, she got herself two new tattoos, something 'dainty' to match her new look: a small cross on her hip bone and two red lips on the wrist of her hand.

When the pop star emerged and the paparazzi asked her why she went for such a drastic makeover, her answer was the simplest as can be: a straight to the point 'Go f**k yourself'. Later, she acknowledged that she did it 'Because of you', because of the pressure coming from the media, the paparazzi and the tabloids in particular. All this happened a few hours later after Brit had checked out of Eric Clapton's rehabilitation clinic, where she was being treated for her alcohol related issues. She lasted only 24 hours in the facility.

It took the media only a couple of hours to secure the tape of Britney shaving her own head (the stylist refused to do it, so she took the matter into her own hands, pulling a genuine GI Jane). It took the owners of the parlor a couple of hours more to realize the kind of fortune they had: Britney refused to take her black hair home, leaving it scattered on the floor, along with a Red Bull can and a lighter. The three items went immediately on sale on eBay and, a couple of hours ago, the auction was up to $1 million. Now, the items were pulled down, but the two owners say that they will sell it either way.

They say they plan to raise a lot of money of Britney's locks and that they will give some of it to some charity. The same goes for the can of the energy drink and for the lighter. However, they also say that they never saw anything more disturbing that what happened that night and their statements are reinforced by the tattoo artist who did Britney's latest 'ornaments'.

'She wasn't making sense at all - she was very scatterbrained and you could tell she's not in a good place at all, and that she is totally freaking out. After she left the shop we all just looked around and said to each other, "we just saw a huge celebrity on the verge of a nervous breakdown". She said "I don't want anyone touching me - I'm tired of everybody touching me"', one employee said.

Another hair parlor owner, where Britney went almost three weeks ago for her brunette 'do, said that the pop star was having serious problems and that her hair was falling like she had some disease or something. He attributed the bad health of the star's hair to the many cheap peroxide bleaches, which 'had broken [it] off and thinned [it] to the point where bald-spots had begun to appear. Britney had used extensions to cover up the damage'.

Psychologists who saw the footage say she needs help. Fans concur. Meanwhile, Britney remains in hiding. Watch the clip below and stay tuned for more details.
