Britney Spears topped a recruitment company poll on the most annoying artists played in shops.
Spears, 24, who recently gave birth to a baby boy, was chosen by the British shopworkers as the most annoying singer, followed by Usher, Kylie Minogue, 50 Cent, Robbie Williams, Akon, Beyonce, Blue, Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson.
The workers complained that her album is played more than 20 times per week and distracts them, while more than 50% from the costumers declared store music is driving them mad.
The survey, made by the job recruitment Web site Retailchoice, on 1.400 people, discovered that Christmas was not the most popular of times amongst shopworkers, with the sounds of Slade and Bing Crosby being played at them over and over again...
Marketing manager for Retailchoice.com Greg Baines was quoted as saying: "Music is an essential part of the retail experience, and can help to make or break the ambiance for both staff and customers.
We would recommend that retailers who overplay records from our shop flop list should think again and consult employees to achieve a varied play list that is well received by both shoppers and staff."
