Britney Spears may appear to be living the grand life, but that’s far from the truth. Three years after her father stepped in and took control over her life with a court-instated conservatorship, Britney still lives like a prisoner, claims a new report.
Fans know that, without Jamie Spears, they couldn’t talk about Britney’s comeback right now, not after a series of very troubling episodes, which saw her even committed on an involuntary hold for psychiatric evaluation after a public meltdown.
Speculation of just how in control of Britney’s life Jamie was and is has been around for a long time – and the latest print issue of InTouch (story via
here) comes to offer an idea of that.
According to the mag, there’s no aspect of Britney’s life that Jamie doesn’t control, from the money she spends to the people she calls on the phone, and the decisions she makes about her children or about her career.
Jamie, as it’s common knowledge, is now in charge both of Britney the brand and of the singer’s personal life, which means she can make very few decisions on her own.
“She isn’t allowed to have a cell phone, and she’s not allowed to take incoming calls to her home unless security screens them first,” an insider says for the publication.
“If she wants to make outgoing calls, security has to dial the numbers for her. She still has an allowance, and if she wants extra cash, she must submit a formal request…” adds the spy.
This makes sense, since, when Jamie came into the picture with the conservatorship, Britney was reportedly being controlled by her then-manager Sam Lutfi and a paparazzo turned her boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.
Back then, she spent $22 million in a year and a half, and none of these expenditures could be deemed as necessary at the time.
To prevent situations like this one from ever emerging, Jamie has barred contact to anyone but her sons (and her ex Federlined), her boyfriend Jason Trawick and, of course, himself. Britney is “incredibly lonely,” InTouch claims.
Furthermore, Jamie has a sober companion always watching over her, accompanying her to all places when Jason is not available.
“Most people don’t know this, but Britney has a sober companion who is with her constantly, whenever Jason isn’t. The companion follows her everywhere she goes – even to the bathroom in restaurants or other public places – to ensure there’s no way anyone can slip her drugs,” the spy says for the publication.
