Britney Spears Is Playing on Two Fronts

- The singer's life is a succession of agony and ecstasy

By: Monica Gaza, Entertainment News Editor

At the moment, Britney Spears is not particularly popular because of the many professional projects in which she's involved. Truth be told, the world should consider itself lucky that Britney is not behind the wheel anymore and that someone responsible is in charge of her personal
life. True, she does have an album out and to this date, she did release three singles off "Blackout" – but it's no secret that most of the interest in her music was sparked largely by her tumultuous (to say the least) personal life, and less by her professional prowess, so to say. However, things are about to change, as Britney's cameo in the CBS series "How I Met Your Mother" is really turning out to be an unexpected success – unlike some of the other, more pressing issues in the singer's life.

CBS has just released a couple of stills form the episode that is set to air on March 24th – and they seem to reveal a clean, happy Britney hard at work. It's definitely good news for the popwreck, considering how many other things on the Spears front are not working out. Agony and ecstasy all rolled into one – that's our Brit. The fact is, it's a good thing Britney is working and making some extra money – seeing how she's just been ordered to pay most of her former husband's lawyer fees. Initially, Kevin Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan demanded that Britney pay for the entire amount, which adds up to around around $500,000, but appealed the court's decision and a judge cut back the amount to $375,000. So yes, Federline is fighting Britney for custody, and she is paying for it. Literally.

The succession of "good" and "bad" in Britney's life is something the whole world had to get used to – largely because as much as anyone tries to escape the drama, the only solution is an isolated cabin at the top of a high mountain, with no electricity and therefore no computers, no mobile phones and no Internet. The good and the bad in Britney's life have become a public affair of sorts, and we're all keeping an eye out on both the "happy" and the "disaster" fronts - just in case. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing the popwreck in action in "How I Met Your Mother", so be sure you stay tuned – and we'll keep you up to speed with all the news.
