The end is finally over: the much-hyped video for Britney Spears’ third single off the “Femme Fatale” album, “I Wanna Go,” has been released. It’s her most fun video in years and you can see it below, at the end of the article, in full.
As the first 30-second teaser also revealed, Britney was bent on taking on the paparazzi again in this brand new video, which is precisely what she does, with some help from none other than Guillermo Diaz.
The clip begins with Britney at a press conference. She’s wearing a very punk-rock outfit, complete with pink and black streaks in her hair – and she’s totally killing it.
Though she may not come across as the type to tell someone to shut the eff up, this is precisely what she does to the pesky reporters when they start bugging her with useless and stupid questions.
Britney then moves outside to wreak havoc on the paparazzi too, with some help from a studded GCI’d microphone she swings around Matrix-style.
In between fighting the paps and telling reporters off, Britney also gets frisked by a very good looking officer, flashes a teenage boy and makes even little children make funny faces.
The video, which doesn’t aim to take itself seriously at all, also includes funny reference to “Crossroads,” the critically panned but fan-favorite film in which Spears made her acting debut.
If one looks closely, one notices the cinema sign behind Britney (in the scene in which she’s standing atop a car) reads “Crossroads 2: Cross Harder.”
Towards the end of the clip, we see Britney and Guillermo, who turns out to be her knight in shining armor (or is he really?) going for a ride, where Guillermo too shows signs of being one of the media robots.
The end is clearly inspired from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” – and fans know that Britney has always been a very vocal fan of his.
