14 DAY TRIAL // The official video for Britney Spears’ much touted duet with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, “Pretty Girls,” has finally been released, and as fans guessed from the leaked on-set paparazzi photos, it’s heavy on the ‘80s imagery.
Britney is shown lounging by the pool and doing her nails, as one does, when her future BFF comes crashing into her life, literally.
Iggy plays an alien being who lands with her ship in Britney’s pool: the rest is history for these two, as they embark on what I can only assume will be a lifelong friendship that sees them partying together, pulling pranks on muscular dudes washing cars, and getting zapped together on Mother Ship at the end of a very long day and night.
As with every video Britney has released in recent years, this one too is heavy on product placement, from the cosmetic products she uses (which I assume are either from her line or some brand she happens to be endorsing) to the gadgets that make a brief, but clearly marked appearance.
Overall, it’s a fun, colorful video, perfect for a fun, silly, summer track. If you were expecting anything deeper from these two, you came to the wrong place.
