In 2007-2008, when Britney Spears was at her lowest point ever and had a highly mediated meltdown, it was her father who stepped in and took matters into his own hands, helping her get her life and career back on track. He did that by having a judge put her under a conservatorship, with him in charge as conservator.

This means that Britney Spears, to this day, can’t make a “simple” decision like buying a new piece of furniture or a car, or a more important one like deciding where she’s to perform next or what new product to release, without his approval.

Mr. Spears, right now, calls all the shots both in Britney’s personal life and in her professional one. She has little if any control over either but, word has it, she’s happier this way. Without her father, she would have never gotten her kids with Kevin Federline back, would have never gotten back to health and her career going once more.

In short, Britney owes her father a lot. Documents obtained by InTouch Weekly reveal that, as of this moment, Jamie makes about $18,000 (€12,907) as Britney’s conservator, the bulk of it being a monthly allowance, and the rest to pay rent for an office space where he carries out “his duties as Britney’s conservator.”

With Britney’s 2-year Las Vegas residency in full swing right now, Mr. Spears wants additional funds for expenses he’s been incurring and roles he’s been fulfilling since it started.

“Petitions seek further additional compensation to Mr. Spears from Atara Tours, Inc. for the services Mr. Spears has been and will be performing in various roles and capacities for Ms. Spears’ performances at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas from 2013-2015 entitled ‘Piece of Me’ and related activities, which services are over and above the services he performs as Conservator of the Person and Co-Conservator of the Estate,” court documents read.

“The petition explains Mr. Spears is requesting 1.5-percent of the gross revenues from the performances and merchandise associated with the Las Vegas residency, explaining Britney has consented to this request,” InTouch adds.

1.5 percent might not seem like much but, considering that Britney is performing several nights a week, mostly to packed venues, it will definitely amount to a pretty penny by the time her residency ends. And that’s just ticket sales, because Britney merchandise must also be selling like hot cakes whenever she’s performing.
