Pop princess Britney Spears and her security staff denied knowledge on Saturday incident, when a photographer was shot in the leg with a BB gun, outside a home in Malibu, California, at a supposed Britney Spears party.
The photographer, Brad Diaz, was standing near the residence, with another 15 to 20 paparazzi, and was trying to get some shots from Britney Spears baby shower, when he received birdshot in his thigh. Diaz called to 911 himself.
Her publicist, Nicole King, says: "Britney didn't know anything about it. She had nothing to do with it."
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department declared yesterday they were swamped with phone calls. "Because of the media attention, we'll probably put this on the front burner to settle the whole thing," said sheriff's Sgt. Robert Knudson.
Mr Diaz was taken to hospital where doctors reportedly said the pellet was embedded too deep to remove.
"If there's anything below minor, that's what the injury was," Sheriff's Department Lieutenant Steve Smith said of Mr Diaz's injury.
