It's been over 4 years that all decisions regarding Britney Spears' life and career were handed over to her father, who was named conservator after her public meltdown that nearly cost her everything she held dearly in life. All this might change soon. The singer is engaged to former agent and longtime friend Jason Trawick, and reports online are saying they're planning a drama-free wedding for this Valentine's Day or
this summer at the latest.
Before that happens, though, Britney will have another reason to celebrate, as her father has decided to have the conservatorship ended, the
Daily Mail informs, citing ongoing reports.
Admittedly, this will be Jamie's present for her daughter: a gesture that will show her that he considers her a responsible adult once more and which, at the same time, will make of her a free woman again.
“As a special gift to mark her upcoming wedding to fiancé Jason Trawick, Britney’s father is asking a judge to halt the conservatorship.[He] is reportedly demanding a judge rescind on the order to mark the pop star’s complete turnaround,” the Mail writes.
Unnamed sources claim Jamie has already taken the first steps towards ending the conservatorship. No word yet on whether it had the results he expected.
“Jamie wants to go to court in early February so Britney will be a free woman in every sense when she marries,” says one such insider.
“And he’s hoping the order will be dropped in time for her nuptials, which are reportedly due to take place on Valentine’s Day on the Hawaiian island of Maui,” adds the Mail.
Britney's fans must know that her music comeback would have been impossible had it not been for Jamie, who came in and took over her business precisely as reports were started to pour in that she was squandering her hard-earned fortune away.
Under the same conservatorship, Jamie also got final say in matters pertaining to Britney's personal life, which helped him rid her of the leeches and bad influences that nearly destroyed her life.
