14 DAY TRIAL // Britney Spears and her boyfriend of 18 months, David Lucado, broke up several days ago, after he was caught on camera kissing and putting his hands on another girl in a club, on what looked like a night out on the town on his own. He cheated on her and she dumped him, but don’t think she’s pining away for him.
Britney isn’t drowning her sorrows in large scoops of ice cream, she’s back on stage, as the shows for her 2-year residency in Las Vegas have resumed. Because she doesn’t want her fans to worry about her or make up the saddest scenarios as to her current state of mind, she’s talking about the breakup too.
Billboard reports that she addressed it on stage the other night, in her Vegas show. She seemed to be taking the cheating part of the breakup better than expected, especially considering her well documented bad luck in love.
“Well, by now everyone knows my boyfriend cheated on me,” she said. “But the best part of breaking up is going on first dates. OMG, OMG, I need a hot guy. Where are the hot guys here tonight?”
She proceeded to picking gossip blogger Perez Hilton from his front-row seat and including him in the “Freakshow” routine she’s been doing for a very long time, in which she chooses a VIP guest and has them on a leash, walking on all fours on stage. It’s actually a highlight of Britney’s shows.
Meanwhile, insiders continue to talk to the tabs and spill the beans on the breakup, which was as quick as it must have been painful for both parties involved.
It is said that Jamie Spears, Britney’s father and conservator, was the first to find out about the incriminatory footage with David and that he even tried to buy it off whoever had it, just so he could avoid further embarrassment for his daughter, who would have been dragged into this against her will.
No word on whether he succeeded in that, but the next thing Jamie did was to go and tell Britney all he knew. It was the Princess of Pop who decided to dump David and shut him out of her life for good immediately.
Other reports claim that Britney had all her phone numbers changed and everyone on her security team was alerted to not let David come close to her or her family. He tried to do that to explain himself because he was hoping she might still take him back, but was shut down.
Right now, Britney is to David Lucado, the man she said on live TV she loved, as inaccessible as she is to us regular folks.
