Earlier this month, the first photos from Britney Spears’ newest video, a collaboration with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea called “Pretty Girls,” leaked online. The song and video won’t be out until May 5, but the photos were enough to convince Spears’ people that drastic action must be taken.

The unflattering photos made them conclude that Britney must be barred from indulging in her favorite treats, junk food and Starbucks. So they did just that, an insider says for Life & Style magazine.

Britney’s diet is being closely monitored

Sources reveal for the publication that Britney’s diet is being closely monitored again, lest she gains weight when she has a new lingerie line to promote. As if that weren’t enough, she also has to stay in shape for her Las Vegas shows, as her residency continues - and might be extended for another year, because it’s a best-seller.

You can see some of these so-called “unflattering” photos in the gallery below. The celebrity publication mentioned above has more at the link in the second paragraph.

Now, there’s no denying that Britney doesn’t look like she did back in her glory days, but then again, she’s not exactly an 18-year-old pop star anymore, is she? She’s a 33-year-old mother of 2.

Apparently, her people don’t want to take any chances and are determined to keep her from gaining any more weight.

“Britney has a free tab at any of Gordon Ramsey's restaurants in Las Vegas,” says a spy. “But she's been ordered to stay away from them. Her managers are worried [that] she'll pile on the pounds by eating her favorite burgers all the time.”

Britney and junk food, an old romance

Britney Spears has always been unapologetic about her love of junk food, just as she’s been about Starbucks. If there ever was a celebrity to endorse a brand with her daily outings (and not get paid a dime for it), that was Britney.

Because she never made an effort to hide this from the paparazzi and the media (not that she ever had any reason to), her weight fluctuations were constantly brought into the spotlight throughout the years.

In the past couple of years, though, she reduced the number of visits to junk food restaurants or Starbucks locations, or at least she’s being more careful about not getting spotted.

She’s also been spending more time in the studio rehearsing choreography and recording music, and it shows in her figure.

The bottom line is that this story of her being “banned” from Las Vegas restaurants is likely, but probably not entirely accurate.
