Britney Gets Her Kids for Christmas

It may look that finally, something went right for Britney, as the troubled pop singer – whose life is the subject of an almost daily media circus – gets the chance to do at least one normal thing this Christmas – that is, spend it with her two sons. Gossip website TMZ reports that Brit Brit was reportedly granted custody of two-year-old Sean Preston and 14-month-old Jayden James for Christmas Day during a closed Los Angeles court hearing which took place yesterday. And even though we don't know for sure what went on inside, rumor has it that there was no cutthroat fighting involved, but rather the two parties reached a voluntary agreement.

It is believed the 25-year-old singer was granted custody of the boys by Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon for the holiday because her ex-hubby Kevin Federline had the boys for Thanksgiving last Thursday. Which is only fair, I presume. Britney currently has three weekly visits with her sons (when she doesn't decide to go chandelier shopping, that is), including one overnight stay, all supervised by a court-appointed parenting coach, while Kevin has been awarded temporary full custody.

The couple's next hearing has been scheduled for the 23rd of January. Also discussed at yesterday's hearing, which was attended by Britney's lawyer Anne Kiley and Kevin's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, was the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services' request for access to the former couple's case file – in particular documents, which have been sealed.

A lawyer for the county was present in the courtroom, and requested all media be removed before he addressed the court. Neither Britney nor Kevin were present. Meanwhile, although she is set to begin filming the music video for her next single, Britney has reportedly announced that she will only be available to film for two hours, between 12pm and 2pm, since she has one of her visits with her kids at two. I don't know if that's supposed to be a sign Britney got her priorities right or further proof that she's insane and can't do anything properly. I only hope she makes the best of having the boys home for Christmas and doesn't screw it up.
