Britney Breaking Stories of the Day - Has It All Gone Too Far?

I just realized something happened that I was not aware of - and it's quite a shock. One day went by and there was no breaking news on Britney. Really, we should be checking whether the end of the world is coming or something similar, otherwise I can't explain it. Kidding. The fact is, there's plenty of Brit Brit news today, and my one comment would be that I think we've reached that point (yes, finally) where the Britney stories that we read every day are getting...well, too much. And yes, there is such a thing as "too much dirt on Britney". You'll see my point in a minute - but before we get into "latest news about our favorite popwreck" mode let me warn you, today's Britney round-up is not that pleasant. In fact, it's quite shocking news, which proves that digging for dirt has simply gone one step too far.

1. The people at Us Weekly are set to release a killer story about how Brit Brit comes from a family marked by depression and suicidal tendencies.

In fact, Us reports in its new issue that "Spears lost her virginity at 14 to boyfriend Reg Jones, and that she and Justin Timberlake were intimate from the beginning". Also, "Us has learned that Spears' paternal grandmother, Emma Jean Spears, in June 1966 committed suicide at age 31. Britney's grandmother, who suffered from depression, shot herself in the chest with a shotgun at the grave of her infant son who had died eight years earlier just three days after being born". And apparently, they go on talking about how this family drama had an impact on Brit's upbringing and turned her into the wreck that she is today.

The fact is, as much as we all enjoy gossiping about the fallen pop princess, I think this time there was no need to expose such painful family drama, that may or may have not influenced Britney's upbringing. And as much as we try to find excuses for her, Britney is a grown woman who can make her own decisions and there's really no getting around that.

2. Britney is hiring a private investigator to keep an eye out on K-Fed

Now this could turn interesting. TMZ reports that Britney (or the people doing the thinking for her, which means most probably the people in her legal team) finally decided to step up the game in her custody fight with ex hubby Federline. And what better way to do that than to dig some dirt on him, too (today is all about searching the closets for hidden skeletons). Apparently, Brit seems to think that K-Fed smoked dope and drank alcohol in front of the kids, too, while they were married.

Well, what can I say about these two - I think they were a match made in heaven. And now that they're not together anymore, the rest of the world has to deal with they lunacy. But prepare yourselves - we'll definitely be hearing some nasty stuff about K-Fed in the weeks to come, and no need to wonder where they came from! Nice of TMZ to warn K-Fed, though. He'd better watch his step from now on. Brit will be on his case - and that's reason enough to worry anyone out there.
