Britney Almost Crashes a Party, Narrowly Escapes Public Meltdown

No one told her she was voted one of the planet's top 5 unsexy ladies...

Britney Spears is a well-known narcissist, and obviously imagines that her presence is enough to spice up any party in this world. However, Brit obviously doesn't read the newspapers and magazines and doesn't surf the Internet either - which is a big mistake, because it can lead to some disaster like the one that was barely avoided last night.

Brit was out and about in Hollywood doing her usual purposeless share of driving for the evening when it suddenly occurred to her that it would be a good idea (not to mention media stunt) if she were to make a surprise appearance at one of the big events of the evening, the Maxim magazine-hosted launch party for the new Ubisoft video game Assassin's Creed which took place at Opera nightclub. Obviously, she wasn't on the invite list, but "Brit started saying that Maxim had always been so good to her in the past and she didn't want to miss anything fun", a friend of the popwreck declared.

And then it was the moment for Brit to learn the unhappy truth: Maxim had definitely not been good to her this time around, since not only had she not been shortlisted among the magazine's "Hot 100" list, but the latest issue of Maxim had actually dubbed her one the five most "unsexy" women on the planet, along with Madonna, Amy Winehouse, Sandra Oh and Sarah Jessica Parker. Ouch.

Brit's reaction: "She started to pout and her eyes were filling up with tears. She had no idea there was such a thing as an Unsexy list and it came as a pretty big shock", her pal said. "We didn't want her to get inside Opera and have people coming up to her or telling her she was a part of that list", the friend then explains. "It would have been really bad if she had had a breakdown inside the club in front of everyone and she wanted to go out and have a good time and forget all the drama at home."

"Brit's been talking about demanding an apology from Maxim", her friend concluded. Yes, like that is ever going to happen. Brit should spend a little more time staring at herself in the mirror while sober - that should help her realize that she really has let herself go, and badly. Apology? She should probably send them a fruit basket for not placing her at the top of the list.
