The ongoing Britney drama is taking an unexpected turn, and it seems that the battle is moving from the street to the court house. Since Britney has been committed to the psych ward at the UCLA Medical Center, there have been no more midnight visits to the shops, no more paparazzi chases and no more police standoffs. Britney as such is pretty much out of the picture, in the sense that no one is setting any store on the popwreck's views and initiatives anymore, on account of her being... well, slightly deranged, to put it mildly. The power struggle now takes place between Britney's parents and her shady alleged manager Sam Lufti - a man who was deemed so dangerous that he had a restraining order issued against him. And now another piece of the puzzle falls into place - a declaration made by Lynne Spears in which she makes shocking allegations against Lufti.

Chief among them is the fact that Lynne claims Lufti is a megalomaniac who enjoyed bragging about his complete control over Britney's life. "He then told me, "I'm the one who spends 24/7 with your daughter. I sleep in cars outside her house so she can't leave." Sam then said, "You people throw everyone under the bus, if you don't listen to me I'm going to make your name sh** in the papers"", Lynne states. She also claims that Lufti did his best to cut Britney off from the real world by hiding her cell phone chargers and sabotaging her land line. "Although Britney has several cell phones, he told us that he had disposed of all of the phone chargers and had made the house phones unworkable", Lynne adds in her statement.

Another shocking accusation against Lufti is that he allegedly gave Britney drugs to keep her subdued. "You'd better learn that I control everything. I control Howard Grossman, Britney's business manger. I control her attorneys and the security guards at the gate. They don't listen to Britney, they listen to me", Lufti reportedly told Britney's mother. "At another point in the evening, Sam bragged to me that he is the one who receives Britney's checks and that one of them was for me. I told Sam that I hadn't gotten any checks from Britney. Sam then told me that they are in his car. He told me that if he weren't in the house to give Britney her medicine, she would kill herself. Then he said to me "If you try to get rid of me, she'll be dead and I'll piss on her grave"", Lynne recounts in her official statement. There's not much I can add at this point - except that I hope this Lufti character is kept as far away from Britney as possible - preferably in a jail cell.
