Britney's Comeback Never Happened, Why Am I Not Surprised?

Her new single was supposed to be released last Saturday, but to no avail

Wow, another story about Britney in the Music category! Does this mean that the former Princess of Pop has returned to the music scene? Her fans can't believe their good fortune. It has been so long since she last released something. The grand event was supposedly scheduled for July 7. So did it happen?

Neah, Britney didn't release s**t. The only appearance Britney made was at a fast food joint where she used the bathroom. Now Britney's defenders might say that she did not release the new single on purpose, because Live Earth and Eva Longoria's wedding were happening at the same time. And Britney deserves to have everyone's attention when her comeback single is aired for the first time.

Allow me to disagree. When (or if) Britney (ever) releases anything new, I believe that even the astronauts in space will be watching. And this situation has a very simple explanation: it's been so long since Brit Brit did something good on a musical level. When you mention her name today, you think of that former singer who keeps appearing in the tabloids.

And here's the best part. If the tabloids stop writing about her, then nobody would hear anything about Britney Spears, since there is no news about her musical career. I'm sure you all agree that it's high time that changed.

However, we are in a position to tell you something about this new single, because it exists. It's called "Get Back" and it's supposed to represent a surprising new sound for Britney Spears. But you have to ask yourself this one question. Why would Britney's label release a new single now, since her album is due for release next year? When you look at it this way, it kinda figures why the single was not aired last Saturday.

Remember: this whole thing started from a rumor, but the feedback was huge, as one would naturally expect when it comes to Britney's comeback. And maybe that was the idea all along. To get Britney back in the musical spotlight.
