Unknown to many, this past Monday marked the beginning of the Urban Food Week in London.

As part of this campaign, British restaurants and ordinary folks are asked to take some time and think about the perks of eating home-grown vegetables and similar organic products.

However, one British pub decided to take things one step further and allow its customers to pay for their beers with tomatoes, cauliflowers, eggplants and the like.

Sources inform us that all the food gathered by the Duke in this manner is to be donated to a local homeless charity, which apparently has no financial support from the government and relies entirely on donations in order to carry on with its activity.

From where we stand, this initiative is quite praiseworthy, as it tackles three major issues: it promotes organically grown foods, it helps those less fortunate, and it makes sure money is not an issue when it comes to enjoying a cold beer.
