Two-year-old Max Price wears both boys and girls' clothes

A couple from Walsall, West Midlands is raising their son following a technique known as "gender-neutral parenting," which means they raise the kid as neither a boy nor a girl in an attempt to make him a “better person and husband.”

Max Price is now two years old and he wears both boys and girls' clothes, so his wardrobe includes both pants and dresses. When it comes to toys, he enjoys playing with cars, planes and dinosaurs, but also with dolls and prams. He also has permission to paint his nails and put butterfly clips in his hair.

According to the Daily Star, his parents, Lisa and Martin Price, are thought to be among the first couples in Britain to ditch the conventional parenting methods in favor of the modern and less traditional techniques.

So, they are not worried when they observe that their son displays girly behavior, like when he's pretending to breastfeed his dolls. They think it's simply a way of self-expression. If his behavior isn't dangerous to himself or others, they let him choose what he wants to do.

“If Max wants to wear a pink tutu and fairy wings, then he can wear it. He’s just expressing himself. I don’t want to put him in a certain box and treat him that way. I want to teach him to be whatever he wants to be. He can pick his own clothes and, as long as they’re warm enough for the winter, I’ll get him whatever he wants”, says Lisa.

The woman decided to allow Max create his own identity after seeing high-profile rape cases in the news. Through this type of education she wants to avoid male stereotypes and the induction of an aggressive behavior.

“Enforcing gender stereotypes can be damaging. They teach little boys to be aggressive and dominant over women,” believes the boy's mother.

Lisa is fully supported in her decision by her husband Martin, who says he also played with dolls as a child.

The couple admit that people stare when Max is wearing girls clothes, but say it doesn't bother them.
