British broadcasting agency iTV is concerned that Apple might take a new stab at their three-letter dubbing when it finally unveils a long-rumored full-fledged television product.

Via The Telegraph comes word that iTV insiders “fear that the world’s biggest company might take a different stance under Tim Cook, who replaced Steve Jobs as chief executive shortly before Mr Jobs died in August last year.”

The report seems highly speculative, although Apple did once try to name its original set-top-box "iTV," and eventually settled for "Apple TV" after failed negotiations with the UK broadcaster.

However, there is no real indication that Apple is gearing up to launch a new iTV, not to mention that the device may not even be released this year.

What the people at iTV are afraid of is actually the endless stream of rumors that keep dubbing Apple’s next television product “iTV.”
