The Framers Gallery in central London has held an exhibit honoring the Internet meme we all know and love – the LOLcat.

According to The Wonder Gallery, the exhibit by Soapbox & Sons, curated by Art Director Jenny Theolin was titled “LOLcat – Teh Exhibishun.”

A LOLcat is described on Wikipedia as "an image combining a photograph of a cat with text intended to contribute humour. The text is often idiosyncratic and grammatically incorrect, and its use in this way is known as 'lolspeak' or 'kitty Pidgin.'"

For this show, typographers, poets, painters and, of course, photographers united to reveal their vision of the Internet phenomenon.

The LOLcat is such a phenomenon, that someone interviewed for the report posted above, listing herself as a “LOLcat expert,” actually mentions preparing a master's thesis in the subject.
