For the first time in 20 years, Madonna performed at the Brit Awards last night, for the 2015 edition. It will probably be another 20 years to get her back on, considering the experience she had, when she was yanked by a dancer and thrown down the stairs.

The Queen of Pop has a new album to promote, so she agreed to be at the gala, held at the O2 Arena in London, to perform her latest single, “Living for Love” towards the end of the show. Right at the beginning of her number, one of the dancers pulled on her long cape, which should have been loosely tied and come off.

Instead, he pulled Madonna with the cape as well, and she was dragged down the stairs and onto the stage. She took a few seconds to recover and she got back up and continued singing. And yes, she seemed to be using a backing track, so the singing wasn’t 100 percent live.

Because she seemed to have taken such a terrible tumble and not wanting her fans to worry too much about her, Madonna took to her Instagram later to explain that she was fine, and that the fall hadn’t been caused by the dancer but by her cape, which was tied “too tight.”

She was, as they say, shaken not stirred but fine.

Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine! ❤️#livingforlove A photo posted by Madonna (@madonna) on Feb 25, 2015 at 2:50pm PST
