It didn't take long for that to come out! I mean, after all the heavy partying and outrageous behavior Britney Spears displayed over the last days, it's no wonder that people began to speculate that she might have turned for help from the K-Fed split to pills.

Sure, this is not as bad as Lindsay Lohan's case is (with allegation flying all over the place that she is mixing cocaine with painkillers and alcohol and what not), but it's still pretty concerning. It doesn't come as an excuse either for Britney's behavior, but it could be a cause for it.

Last week, the former pop star had dinner at Dan Tana restaurant in West Hollywood and the paparazzi all saw her as she came out, headed to her car, glass of wine in hand and fag in another, and then got behind the wheel. Now, the magazine found a fellow diner willing to speak about the things s/he saw that night in Britney's purse.

According to this source, the singer and mother of two infants is looking for consolation in medication, seeing that the split from Kevin Federline has been too much a strain on her. During a visit to the bathroom, the spy saw Brit Brit dig in her handbag and take out at least two kinds of drugs, which she put on the counter and later ingested.

'It looked like a pharmacy in there - I have never seen so many pills. There was a bottle of Paxil, an antidepressant, and a bottle of Xanax, which treats anxiety, that she took out and put on the counter', the source claims. However, mixing the two drugs is not half the story: their prescriptions clearly indicate that they should not be mixed with alcohol and Britney was seen sipping from a glass of wine only minutes later!

Seeing that Britney sort of apologized yesterday to her fans, maybe this incident that the mag is writing about is just a one-timer. We'll make sure to keep you posted anyway.
