Bethesda and Splash Damage's Brink first-person shooter has just received some major news, which do not include the minimum and recommended system requirements for the PC platform, but also a brand new release date, making the title arrive one week early than previously scheduled.

Brink is set to be one of the most ambitious new properties that will appear this year, as both Splash Damage, its developer, and Bethesda, its publisher, want to spice up the first-person shooter genre by taking the game's single-player campaign to the online world, adding real-life opponents to the missions in the title.

Now, the two companies have just revealed that unlike many other games that are being delayed with new release dates, like the infamous Duke Nukem Forever, Brink will arrive one week earlier than planned.

Pete Hines, VP of PR and marketing for Bethesda Softworks, said of the move "Production wrapped on Brink earlier than we planned and we didn't see any reason to keep gamers from getting their hands on this highly anticipated game as soon as it was ready. It's apparent from the tremendous reaction so far that people are eager to jump online and play, and if we can make that happen earlier - we're going to."

The new first-person shooter will now be released on May 10, in North America, and May 13, in Europe.

Besides the great news above, the two companies have also revealed some of the features that will be included in the PC version of the game, as well as the system requirements.

If you want to barely run Brink or play it at its intended level of quality, here's what you need to have:
