AverMedia announced today the release of the Hybrid ExpressCard High Definition and Analog ExpressCard TV Tuner designed for laptops, using the latest component technologies, and being the perfect TV tuner solution for users that wish to entertain themselves while on trips. The TV tuner card uses the new Express Card interface in order to connect to a laptop and it supports
all analog TV standards and it also incorporates an ATSC tuner. According to the manufacturing company's press release, this Express Card TV tuner is certified to be perfectly compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, XP Media Center Edition 2005 and Windows Vista Premium Certified 32/64 bits.

As its name implies, the AVerMedia AVerTV Hybrid Express Card uses the new 54mm Express Card interface and it combines Analog and ATSC capabilities into a single unit. "Users can watch and record Analog and High Definition TV through their laptop's Express Card interface", and as the tuner comes with a hardware compression module, recording and storing any multimedia stream can be done at high quality setting that offers a sharp and clear video, while reducing processor utilization. "The new AVerMedia Hybrid Express Card provides an Analog and Digital TV Tuner solution for laptops with an Express Card interface while transforming it into a High Definition multimedia entertainment center," says Felix Kolotinsky, Product Manager for AVerMedia Technologies, who is cited in the press release. "By combining both Analog and HD capabilities onto once tuner, users can easily watch, record, rewind and playback Analog and HDTV programs".
