A new level of interconnectivity and control

Being an industrial specification for wireless personal area networks, Bluetooth provides an easy way of connecting and exchanging information between a wide range of devices, including iPods, but only when using the right additional accessories, since the iPods are not able to connect via Bluetooth without help.

ANYCOM is a German company that offers wireless communication products, focused around the Bluetooth Technology, and its products range includes USB adapters, stereo headphones, GPS solutions, LAN access points and many more. Today, we'll talk about the FIPO, a revolutionary Bluetooth device that allows any Bluetooth mobile phone or similar device that features Bluetooth A2DP compatibility to stream audio data to other products intended to be used with an iPod.

One of the most popular devices designed to work with the iPod that I wrote about in the last months is the dock connector that is included in a large number of car models, linking the iPod to the vehicle's audio system. From now on, if you forget your beloved iPod at home, you can use your mobile phone (hopefully, at the end of the summer you'll be using your iPhone for this purpose) as an audio source, or if you're at home and have an iPod HiFi station around, but the player is nowhere to be found, you don't have to be annoyed, since you can stream using your phone, PDA or even your PC!

While remote commands can be executed from the steering wheel of your car to the iPod, now you get the same functionality when using your phone, and the same is true for HiFi stations or iPod speakers that you may be using.

The FIPO adapter installs easily, by simply plugging it into the connector designated for an iPod, and as soon as you do this, it begins to automatically search for compatible devices, without the need to press any key or install additional software. Having an emitting range of 10 meters, the FIPO will begin production for the US and Europe simultaneously, on the 15th of February, and is going to be available for a price of 99$.
