An actual coffin, just like the ones they put corpses in

Over the weekend, on May 30, 58-year-old Jenny Buckleff and 51-year-old Christopher Lockett, both from Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, UK, tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony held in Wales.

The bride wore white, the groom put on his best suit, and guests were as happy as can be for the couple and their newly found marital bliss. Yes, this wedding was just like any other.

Well, except for one infinitesimal detail that's now grabbing headlines: 58-year-old Jenny Buckleff showed up at her wedding ceremony lying in a coffin that even had the lid on.

That's right, an actual coffin just like the ones that the bodies of deceased individuals are put in. Mind you, the bride's coffin was even decorated with a gloomy portrait of the Grim Reaper.

Jenny Buckleff's boo knew what to expect

In an interview, the 58-year-old bride, a former embalmer and funeral home employee, explained she got the idea to show up in a coffin at her own wedding quite a while before the ceremony.

At first, she kept her plans from husband-to-be Christopher Lockett. Eventually, she worked up the courage and told him all about her idea to arrive at their wedding in a coffin. The man saw nothing wrong with it and let Jenny Buckleff have her way.

“I almost didn't tell Chris but in the end I spilled the beans about three weeks before. He was a bit surprised but he said as long as I was happy he would go with the flow,” the woman said.

As for why she wanted to arrive at her wedding in a coffin rather than, say, a car or at least a horse-drawn carriage, the bride claims that she only wanted to make the ceremony unique and unlike any other.

Since they were utterly and completely clueless about the woman's plans, wedding guests were quite shocked when she emerged from the chest. At the end of the day, however, they all had a good laugh about it.

The coffin belongs to the bride's brother

It is understood that the coffin used by 58-year-old Jenny Buckleff in her wedding ceremony belongs to her ill brother, who in turn was given it by his daughter, DM tells us.

Apparently, Jenny Buckleff loves her brother so much that, to honor his passion for motorcycles, she had a two-wheeler pull along the casket she was lying in.

“My brother and I are very close so it was nice to be able to do something to honor him and do something a bit different. He loved it and said it made his day,” the bride said in a statement.
