In India people are taking weddings really serious and as a bride, you either marry when the arrangements are made or you end up single for the rest of your life. So, when the groom gets cold feet and bails right before the wedding, an immediate replacement has to be found.

This was the case of Ponradha, a 23-year-old from the district of Kanyakumari, India who was betrothed to marry 35-year-old Sithiraivelu.

The night before the wedding ceremony, as Indian customs dictate, the groom was expected at the bride's house for the welcoming party, but the groom never made it, according to Times of India.

The wedding ceremony was supposed to happen on Wednesday, but on Tuesday night the bride's family got the shocking news that the groom had gone missing.

The bride's family and the groom got into an argument prior to the wedding, but never thought that the small misunderstanding will lead to the groom breaking his wedding promises.

A stopped marriage would definitely affect the bride's future in the Indian community so the family went into a frenzy looking for solutions. Luckily for the bride, families really stick together in India and help each other when in need.

When seeing the family's desperation, one of Ponradha's relatives stood up and offered to marry the girl. Sivakumar, a 30-year-old man witnessing the wedding, agreed to marry the girl even if they were somehow related. Talking about spontaneity, the groom didn't even think twice and continued with the ceremonies as planned.

The wedding took place as scheduled with just a minor change, the groom. The family was relieved that their girl would not end up spending her life alone and the guests congratulated the new groom for his amazing gesture.
